Ophiuroidea
Class Ophiuroidea are the brittle stars. There are more species of Ophiuroidea than any other echinoderm. They also have a star shaped body but the arms are very long, flexible and clearly demarcated from the central disk. The swift, snake-like movements of the arms are used for locomotion while the tube feet, which lack suckers, are used instead for feeding.
Most brittle stars eat detritus and small animals they pick up from the sea floor. Particles are collected by the tube feet and passed to the mouth. They lack an anus.
